In my experience, they don't make up their own rules or ask for tea money. Treat them with respect and they will do the same. They work hard and take a lot of crap. They have been checking to see if foreigners actually live at their 'reported' address. I've also been to Mae Sai Immigration (we can go to either one). They're not as "friendly" as the CR office.
