Samila beach hit by strong waves

Strong waves have caused damages to Samila (สมิหลา) beach despite the tails of sandbags erected along the beach.

Southeast Monsoon has reached the Gulf of Thailand and the south of the country, leading to heavy scattered rainfall in some areas of the southern provinces.

The monsoon also exerted more pressure onto the wind and waves at the Gulf of Thailand. The Meteriological Department reported a wave height of 2-4 meters.

However, Songkla municipality will reinforce sandbag barriers to prevent adverse effect to Samila beach.

Yeah,

When you come from Hat Yai and arrive to Songkhla, turn right in that small street over the small bridge between the small houses just before the beginning of the beach and then you end at a university related hatchery. There is a beach. I went surfing (bodyboarding) there last saturday.

If you go in front of the Island on the left side of samila Beach (left from the mairmaid) the waves where pretty good to surf (not perfect but enough to have fun!!!).
