phuketsub
So my new hobby is beachcombing through all the debris along the beach here in Songkhla. It's amazing the sheer range of stuff you find and it always makes me wonder : 'how the hell did this get here? One of the things I find in huge amounts is sheets of foam rubber and I wonder why there is so much of it. Most of the stuff is obviously from the fishing industry, but I don't see why fishermen would be using so much foam so I expect it might be related to the offshore drilling industry, but that's just my theory. Can anyone confirm that? Or are there other possible sources. Anyway, the stuff is perfect for making beer condoms so maybe there is a silver lining to this dystopian phenomena. smotherb
Drink your beer faster, you won't need a beer condom.
Ulic
It is possible the fishing industry uses the Styrofoam to build FADS (fish attraction devise) Not really sure. In a twisted way some fisherman may think using the foam is environmentally sound as it just eventually washes up on a beach somewhere and becomes litter.
