impulse
I throw nymphs at them on a fly rod at Pilot 111 near BKK, and have caught them up to around 5kg. They're a real treat on a 3-4 weight fly rod. Live and natural baits aren't allowed at Pilot 111, which is one of the challenges of fishing there. Only artificials. I've had them to a couple of kilo's I guess on a 4 weight fly rod, and they pretty nearly strip the line to the backing on the first run.
highlander403
yes it did make my day for sure amazing that i landed it as was only using braid but it was hooked in corner of mouth also had a few bite offs and one where hook broke not even sure what that was as it just took off and got snagged round some posts on walkway
stbkk
Yes I had a couple of broken hooks while I was still using my old trout flies for the Pacu at Pilot111. Now I tie my own to much stronger hooks, and not a problem. Luckily the Pacu are nothing like as picky as wild trout in England, so my less than perfect flies still seem to work! I also use PE2 braid as a leader, and as long as I check it regularly don't seem to have any problems with bite offs.
