everybody should have the duty to take movies about police showing bad behaviour.

This would help the police having a good reputation and doing a good job. (that's what they want, I guess?)

In their job they have to be an example of righteousness and kind behaviour.

If they fail they need to be named and shamed so police could get rid of those who are not qualified.

They should not be allowed to sue defamation.

Key word being should but would never happen.

correct, they are accountable to the public, video footage will either prove he did nothing wrong or ............... otherwise, it is time the top brass went public to encourage the public to expose wrong doing just like they are now offering rewards for the public to report criminal activity and traffic violations.

It is time the police realised they are accountable to the public for their actions

That realization, here, is at least a generation away.   Thailand has no idea how much goings on such as this damage it on the global stage.  Apologists will yammer endlessly about how stuff like this happens everywhere.  But you know what?  It really doesn't.

What intrigues me is....  What is the cop doing with 2 people on the back of his (official?) bike whilst on duty?

Wonder if he is going to try to use the helmet he threw on the ground for official use again?

I once saw a cop ride his police motorbike into the middle of a police  helmet checkpoint area, pick up 2 schoolkids and ride out again with them on the back not wearing any helmets!

I see the video is no longer available.

Pity it might show the policeman illegally carrying 2 children.

Removing videos and suing for defamation is not the solution to peoples infantile and hostile behavior.

Being held up for ridicule is.

I can recall seeing a policeman kicking a driver on a motorbike under a flyover a couple of years back. There was a big fuss at the time then it all went quiet and the video disappeared.

I think this incident will go the same way.

Siriporn said that he demanded 2,000 baht for damage to his bike and injury to two children who were on the back.

!!! Another publicity coup just for Thailand's finest.  I'm surprised this well-trained and superbly disciplined officer didn't pull his revolver and ceremonially shoot himself in the foot while he was conducting his little public dummy-spit.

Where do they recruit these fools from?

So this self-important <deleted> just walks away from his kids who were on the bike, his precious ego far more important than their welfare. My sympathies to the kids for their misfortune (you know what I mean).

And he was working so hard on trying to impress them with his masculinity and commanding presence.

Siriporn told Daily News Online she wants to let the matter rest.

Siriporn doesn't realise yet just how lucky she is. This clown has virtually provided her with a 'Get Out of Jail" card free of charge for a year or two. If she's ever arrested or otherwise inconvenienced by police all she'll need to do is produce media coverage of this event and, with a clever lawyer, create doubt in the minds of a court that she's the victim of revenge harrassment prompted by this idiot and his corrupt mates. A no-brainer (in several contexts)!

The writing is on the wall .........

This crook needs to get booted out of his uniform without notice; I can just hope they will not find the guy who posted (correctly) the truth. As mentioned, the writing is on the wall and the days of civil war and unrest are just around the corner.
Absolute power ........... corrupts absolutely and cannot be more evident with those loose cannons shooting in all direction, everyone buys whatever they want, be it tanks or subs and we see daily highway robberies on Pattaya's streets by the BiB. Be warned, just be warned ...

Maybe it is time to pack and move on ...... after decades of non-improvement that is

As much as we already see on a daily basis, this is still just the beginning.

Had it happened in anerica and the driver was black the policeman could have shot her and been exonerated.

Needs to count her blessings wh?

I'm sure your open mind, bonhomie and disposition will be sorely missed should you leave.

You're exactly the sort of expat Thailand so richly cherishes.
