KOH SAMET: -- A sixty year old Chinese tourist died Sunday after drowning on Sai Kaew beach on Koh Samet.

Sawang Porn Kuson foundation medics rushed to the beach when Mr Xiangxin went missing while out swimming with other members of his tour group staying at Sai Kaew, reported Daily News.

They managed to find the body in the water but attempts to revive him failed. He had been in the water for an hour.

Police said that they suspect that he suffered from cramp and was unable to save himself.

The body was sent for autopsy and relatives have been informed.

Chinese drowning seems as common as farangs falling from balconies.

I live in China... and running across a local who can swim is almost as rare as finding a European who can fly.
