Recommended Posts

i am applying for my thai born son (british by descent) first passport

under the Table A (photo evidence) section the following docs are acceptable:
• your British passport (if you are renewing)
• non-British uncancelled passport
• national identity card or equivalent (or colour photocopy)
• driving licence
• any government or local government produced document which includes a photograph as part of the document.

he is 1 years old and doesn't have any of these documents

1) should i apply for a thai passport first and take that along?

2) does he have to come with me or can i put the application in alone?

3) does the MFA translate mothers birth certificate or only certify the translation?

thanks so much,

George

As far as I know as it is a child, then the documents required should be relevant to you as the Father.

1. Entirely up to you, it would do no harm to get the Thai passport.

2. No, I am pretty sure that he does not have to attend.

3. MFA only certify the translation, though I am not sure if a certification of the translation is actually required.
