jamie2009
My Thai partner is currently with me in the UK, I have thought of a trip too either Malta, Greece or the Canaries. Can she obtain a Schengen Visa whilst in the UK too visit these countries ?

chickenslegs
According to this she needs to apply whilst in her country of residence (Thailand)...https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/apply-from-uk/ I guess the only way to find out for sure is to contact the embassy of the country you want to visit. But, with so many great places to take her in the UK, why would you want to go to Europe? Take her to London (is there a more historic city?), Devon, Cornwall, Wales, Northumbria (my favourite part of England - Lindisfarne - across the causeway, Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick, Berwick upon Tweed, etc.). http://www.lastminute.com/blog/50-brilliant-things-to-do-in-london-in-summer/ Anyway, have fun - wherever you go.

London trip already planned plus trip too Scotland, I lived and worked in Malta for 3 years, nearly settled there but after the Euro was introduced the cost of living went through the roof so decided not too. A great place too visit, very historical with some great places to see if you know where to go.

theoldgit
Too many variables to give an accurate answer. If your partner is in the UK on a general visit visa it's highly unlikely that she will be able to apply for a Schengen Visa outside her country of residence, if however she's living in the UK then yes she can apply in the UK. If you are married, and you are an EU national, then in theory she could apply whilst in the UK, but even then most consulates would not allow it.
Donutz
TG is spot on. If she is your unmarried partner, certainly if it's not a durable and exclusive relationship akin to marriage: apply from the country if residence or nationality. This would be Thailand but could be the UK is she has a residence status there. A UK short stay (visitor) visa is not sufficient except if it concerns an emergency. If she is your spouse and you are a EU national (such as Briton): EU directive 2004/38 (freedom of movement for non EU family members) applies. Legislation states that she can apply from anywhere in the world so also while on holiday in the UK. Sadly some embassies such as Spain refuse to acknowledge this and wrongly insist to apply from Thailand just like an unmarried person would as described above. Details in the Schengen sticky topic.
