Is there still a ticketed queue system like at BKK and how busy is it around 8 AM or 9 AM? Also, what's the fare including tolls if applicable. Thanks! Tanoshi Posted July 20, 2017 Share Posted July 20, 2017 We just paid 540 baht inclusive of the 50 baht taxi driver fee + toll fees. That was by the meter. Around Don Muang is extremely congested at the moment because of the new rail link development. Between 7am - 10am and 4pm - 9pm is absolute gridlock. Many taxis were refusing metered fares because of the time taken to reach local destinations. Took us 40 minutes to go 3km to our hotel at 2030 and we had to negotiate a price. NanLaew Posted July 21, 2017 Author Share Posted July 21, 2017 FWIW, after locating the free shuttle bus stance (I had an onward flight from BKK), it took less than an hour. The first 10 minutes or so was spent getting through the gridlock mentioned earlier but once on the elevated, it was a straight shoot with minimal delays at the tolls. While heading for the bus stance, I did pop out and try and pull a taxi but neither would lower their windows and just shook their heads. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tanoshi Posted July 21, 2017 Share Posted July 21, 2017 It depends on the time of day. We caught the 7pm shuttle bus back to DM, arriving 8.45pm due to the traffic congestion. The bus drivers will advise you to allow 90 minutes for transfer at peak times. The previous week, we caught the 1pm shuttle bus back to DM, arriving 1.40pm.
