Two Iranians arrested for trying to extend stay on fake passports at Chonburi immigration

Chonburi immigration noticed irregularities in the passports of two people claiming to be Iranians yesterday.

 

The photo page of the passports seemed to have been tampered with and this was confirmed by the use of a VSC-6000 machine.

 

The 36 year old couple were apparently staying in Pattaya. They were named as Mayam Firuzbakt and Maseya Raskardani.

 

They had entered Thailand on tourist visas but their passports were not spotted as being fakes at that time.

 

Now they are being investigated at Pattaya police to find out what they are up to at the resort, reported Daily News.

Iranians with fake passports? I hope the authorities don't just fine them and let them go. I will not trust any Iranians doing this, probably up to no good and terrorists.

I have to give them some credit for following the immigration rules on extending/reporting/etc...

The VSC - 6000 is no longer sold and is replaced with the 8000 series. Should probably consider before proudly showing off advanced technology that no one is impressed with yesterdays newspaper.

This ranks up there with the Nigerians caught with a couple hundred Thousand $$ and their  Nigerian friend showing up at the Police Station saying it was his money and could he have it back, they were just holding it for him??

wonder if the exact same passport was used upon arrival?  Can't quite tell from the article.  Were they the ones that actually entered on those passports?  Are they different people trying to use those modified passports now?

Have you got this in the right thread?  I thought this was about Iranians with fake passports, maybe a small error?
