They rip off their own in the same way they rip off Farang.   No scruples apply here when it comes to money and the fastest way to make it !

Any take a look at the world news section today in regard to many thousands of internal scams currently happening in USA to rip off the unfortunate folks who have lost everything in the harvey storm damage.

I presume the marriages were consumated before the dowries were paid.  That just makes her one expensive hooker!  Nothing new here, then.

Thousands of "serial bigamists" in Thailand like her.....how many of the bar girls are dropped off at work by their husbands...then take on another personality " looking for mally falang longtime"..before shortiming or longtiming said "customer"....?

So there we have a female “bigamist” -- although 4 men were allegedly conned and she probably rather should be called a “quadruplamist”.

And what’s the big ruckus anyway...? Ah, I see, money is involved. That’s why! Otherwise the case wouldn’t even have made the newspapers.

To be honest: I’d rather see her make off with a few 100,000 baht in dowry than any of these men eventually making off and abandoning their children and wife altogether, as seems to be normal everyday practice among Thai males.

I am also wondering how many of these hopeful grooms were perhaps already married and/or maintained several "mia nois" or "kiks" on the side.

And as a final note: If Thais only were as laborious, creative and innovative in business and R&D as they are in devising an endless stream of sophisticated scams to rake in money for nothing and screwing each other over left and right, this country could have well become First World ages ago.

...............They're just following the example set by the Buddha!

Your not legally married until you sign on the dotted line & get the marriage certificate.

This house party shit is just a ceremony for the so called family & friends, and for you to hand over your cash !!!!

It doesn't mean "jack-shit"

Can anyone tell me what's the different between this woman that

fleeces you before you get to marry her and the women that takes

you to the cleaners after and while being married to you and pretend

to ' lobe you ' ?....

Well I think the difference is that after she married you, and puts up with you a little longer, she gets more. This guy had to sell his car to get her, so no point hanging around as it would takes years for him to rebuilt.

expats can now take some solace in the fact that this is not a farang problem anymore.... hope culture ministry has a course to address this issue now.

haha, such duplicity happens in every country but does seem rather prevalent in thailand. i wonder about all the foreign guys who believe the line;  thai man no good'  - this may or may not  be true but the fairer sex here certainly give them a run for their money.

Just like there are good and bad in every country, there are similar numbers of good and bad within the sexes in every country. This is no more than imo and ime...Now, to be clear to those who might  say "no way" (i'm not talking physical violence crimes and the like, where obviously men out number women)

This is one reason why there shouldn´t exist 2 kinds of marriages. One kind with automatic registration solves the problem. Only one marriage allowed.

The only thing this woman is guilty of, is using the stupidity of a sick system to her advantage.

I suppose there is no law against how many unregistered marriages you are allowed to have. Probably not any law that says you have to stay by your husbands side after you marry with him.

It just tells me that it´s going to be hard to take her down with the existing laws.

If it´s worng? Yes off course it is, but stupidity and greed always wins over common sense and feelings i Thailand.

The affairs/cultures of other nations (other than your own) obviously don't fit into your frame of mind.
You could apply some decency and accept the tastes in art & manners that are favored by social groups which your are evidently disparage and unequal to understand.

Just following the historic development footsteps of the USA into status as a world power. Imitation is a powerful form of flattery.

Police looking for woman for alleged cheating

Police in Wang Saphung district of Loei province in the Northeast are looking for a woman who is alleged to have cheated at least six men out of dowries and run away from weddings.

The police are taking this action after a man from Chon Daen district of Phetchabun province filed a complaint with Wang Saphung police that he had been cheated by Ms Jariyaporn Buayai, 32, out of 200,000 baht dowry. He said he had paid the dowry to marry her, but Ms Jariyaporn ran away with the money and a Toyota Vigo pick-up truck.

Many other men posted online in the social media, saying that they had also been cheated by Ms Jariyaporn.
